The Dallas dance community lacked a place to play, perform and produce movement work outside of the traditional company model. 

brief

Committed to filling this gap, I crafted a new name, brand personality and visual identity system for the unconventional modern dance non-profit Don't Ask Why  to reposition it as a collaborative community platform.

Inspired by the juxtaposition between the fertile mess of the creative process and the refined finished product, I built a brand grounded in the belief that evocative work is rooted in a community of nurtured artists.

Brand Marks

In collaboration with the dancers, I created a library of custom prints celebrating their process in all its iterative glory. These prints visually provide a humanity across the brand centered on cultivating community.
